Hi! I’m Adra Bowman, and I’ve been working at UC for ten years – first at my alma mater, UCSB, and now at UCSC, close to where I grew up. I am passionate about the mission of UC and the important work being done throughout the many departments and programs across the system, and I am especially invested in supporting the staff who enable UC to function and thrive. When I am not working or organizing for our union, I can be found teaching fitness classes at the gym or spending time with my spouse and our three cats.

I’m the Communications + Advocacy Director for the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health, and I work remotely from Brooklyn, NY. I’ve worked at UC for over 8 years and have been organizing since the early days of the ComMaS. I’m excited to serve in this important role and work with everyone to win a contract that values our contributions to UC. I like to spend my free time dancing, reading, seeing live music, nerding out over comedy and movies, fighting authoritarianism, drinking bourbon, and obsessing over my 2 cats.

I’m Lizzie Hall, a Senior Graphic Designer with UC San Diego Athletics. In my role, I create a wide range of graphics highlighting our 24 sports and over 600 scholar-athletes through social media, digital marketing, and print work across campus. When I’m not designing, I love trivia nights, geeking out over musical theatre, and snuggling with my two cats.

Hi, I’m Farah Hamade, a Graphic Designer at UCSF. In my role I create visuals and animations that help distill and create engagement with the university’s scientific and clinical research. I care deeply about worker’s rights and our ability to have a collective say in our future. Outside of work and organizing, you can catch me facilitating figure drawing sessions, swimming, cooking for friends, and hanging out with my two cats.

As a writer and editor at UC ANR, I work with researchers to translate their pest management research into clear, actionable guidelines for California growers that provide solutions that are practical, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible. When I’m not working, you can find me with my spouse as we eat great food, explore nature, and give scritches to every dog we meet.

My name is Ian Miller, and I am a Comms Spec4 at UC Berkeley. I’ve worked at the University for 18 years and I care deeply about the mission and about my colleagues who are essential to driving that mission forward. Outside of work, I enjoy film photography, playing music, and whipping up delicious vegan meals for family and friends.

I share UCLA’s scientific discoveries with the world. Every story about UC research that you see in the news starts off with ComMaS like me, who work with researchers to craft a pitch that captures a journalist’s interest. I love my work and am constantly amazed that I get to do it for one of the world’s greatest universities. I’ve worked at UCLA for four years, but have worked for UC at other campuses and in other job roles for nearly 30 years altogether, and have been organizing with our union for over a year. When I’m not working or organizing, I enjoy gardening, birdwatching, and road trips with my wife and our enormous pit bull.
